Love You Forever is a narrative short film that explores the definition of motherhood and aims to accurately capture the torment of female madness, enraptured with invisible pain.
Confronted with trauma, women contain, compartmentalize, distract, and ultimately carry on. It’s what they do, it’s what their mothers did, and it’s what their grandmothers did before them—lessons learned from a society of partially blind eyes.
Shannon is a woman in pain. She endures in chaotic calm, cracking from the inside out. And though she possesses a porcelain exterior, her suffering is no less rage-filled than her male counterpart. To choose the fatty silence is to allow the metastasization of suffering, poisoning her body beyond repair.
